Review- Fablehaven

This is my first bad review, Fablehaven has to be the worst book I've read in my life. This is also the first book I'm reviewing with my new code and new age description.

Fablehaven is a story about two characters named Kendra and Seth, Kendra is a girl and Seth is a boy, the first interesting thing happens when Seth catches a fairy and turns it into an imp. That's about all that happens until the last 5 chapters. There are about 20 chapters. 3/4 of the thing is character development! Not even very good character development, it gives you nothing of the character's backgrounds, just their personalities. Nothing happens in the book at all. Whilst I was reading it I was thinking to myself: "I'll get passed the first few chapters and then it'll get interesting..." it didn't. At the tenth chapter I'm thinking: "okay, it'll get interesting soon enough..." it didn't. I managed to read until the last five chapters and I think on the fourth chapter before the end it got interesting. (My facts about this could be off, just bear with me).

In the end, Kendra (the main character) saves Fablehaven from "falling" and prevents the evil which and evil spirit to rule the world. It does have sequels and they might be more interesting, but if you want to read the series, I recommend skipping this first book, its really for younger readers.

On the positive side, the end is quite interesting and captivating, but it isn't worth reading through all of the fluff in the beginning and middle to get to it.

- No plot, tons of fluff, could be edited down to a story book size, too much characterization, extremely dramatic, no real-life situations; arguments are terribly drawn out; conversations are to fluffed up, not interesting until the end.

Book 3

Diary of a wimpy kid series

This is a extremely funny story about a kid who has to have the harshest middle school life ever! It isn't very complicated and is an easy read with a good plot. You'll love the characters and setting, both are finely built. The humor is top notch and it has exceeding originality.

I give it 3/5 stars because of the mild complexity and plot.

Book 2

House of the Scorpion

House of the Scorpion is an intriguing novel which presides in "opium" a place in between mexico and the United States. A small farmhouse in one of the fields holds Matt, a small boy who is the clone of El Patron, a drug lord, who is really old. He has been cloned in order to provide spare parts for El Patron when he needs them. The plot twists when Matt thwarts El Patron and attempts to escape. It is a lengthy story and has many twists, it is completely original, but it is very complex. It has a stretched out plot and I think it could be a little better in a two book form. Characters are finely built and is an over-all complex and humorous story with a romantic twist.

I give it 4/5 stars

The Giver

The giver is a book based in a totally incomprehensible world of sameness where everything is controlled. It has a simple plot yet a very unique setting, making it perfectly complex and a good read for any reader, young or old. It's characters are built perfectly. It is a very original book and forces the reader to have a completely new perspective on our world now, and what our world could be. It is not a humorous book but gives you deep emotion near the end on what true happiness is. In a world with no color, joy, fear, or pain, how would you feel? I hope this is a review that will get you to read the book and change your perspective of things.

I give it 5/5 stars, best book I have ever read, I hope you feel the same.
